Milarrochy Bay is in Scotland’s first National Park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs. Our
Site is on the beautiful east shore of Loch Lomond, which you can walk along to discover its sandy coves.

What's on?
- The West Highland Way footpath passes
the Site. It runs for 95 miles from Glasgow
to Fort William. Walkers can have their
bags delivered to their next stopping
point.
- Balloch Castle Country Park is receiving a
significant investment to return it to its
former glory. National Park rangers
regularly run events in the park.
- Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre hosts
many activities, including guided canoe
trips, bike hire and guided hikes.
- The Falkirk Wheel is the world’s first
and only rotating boatlift. It
completes the link between the
cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh by
waterway.
- There are at least 38 islands on
Loch Lomond. A mailboat visits
some – leaving from Balmaha.
Cruises on the Loch leave from
Balloch.
- Walks of varying length and
difficulty start from the Site.
- Sample the local “water of life” at
Glengoyne scotch whisky distillery.
- Discover the truth about Scotland’s
most famous Highlander at the Rob
Roy and Trossachs Visitor Centre.
- Inverary makes a great day out,
with its castle, Maritime Museum
and jail.
- Drumkinnon Tower at Lomond Shores
gives spectacular views of Loch Lomond.
It also houses the new Loch Lomond
Aquarium, showing visitors the wildlife of
the Loch.
- Glasgow, Scotland’s second city, has a
wealth of attractions including Scotland's
Centre for Contemporary Arts, the Gallery
of Modern Art and the social museum –
The People’s Palace. There are also plenty
of places to shop.
